The Registry
|
The primary purpose of the registry process is to provide assurance that those
individuals engaged in community based rehabilitation services meet acceptable
educational standards. The existence of such standards is considered to be in the best interest of consumers, other practitioners, individuals in allied professions and the public. Through their participation in the registry and the registry maintenance programs, community based practitioners are able to bring about a higher level of performance and quality throughout the profession.
The RCRP designation is offered to individuals who have graduated from a baccalaureate-level rehabilitation program registered with the Committee on Undergraduate Education (CUE) of the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE). Graduates of CORE’s CUE registered undergraduate programs are eligible to apply for the designation of Registered Community Rehabilitation Practitioner (RCRP). As a result of the emphasis on community based assessment, employment, and integrated services, certified vocational evaluation specialists (CVE) now rely heavily on community rehabilitation professionals to implement vocational evaluation recommendations and conduct adjustment services. The registry concept evolved out of CCWAVES perception of a natural alliance that exists between the employment outcomes of alumni of baccalaureate-level rehabilitation programs and the profession of vocational assessment and evaluation. |
