Benefits of Registration
|
The primary purpose of this registration process is to provide verification that individuals engaged in providing services that maximize the independence and vocational potential of consumers meet acceptable educational standards. The recognition of such educational standards is considered to be in the best interest of consumers, other practitioners, individuals in allied professions, and the public. Through completion of an undergraduate program registered with the Committee on Undergraduate Education (CUE) of the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) and participation in this registration process, these community rehabilitation practitioners demonstrate intent to bring about a higher level of performance and qualification throughout the profession.
It is not the Commission's intent to assert that any individual is suitable for employment or to impose staffing requirements on any agency. Rather, the objective is to recognize the professional commitment of an individual who has completed an undergraduate program registered with CORE's CEU and provide a registration process that may be recognized by any interest group, agency, or individual providing community rehabilitation services. The goal is to help achieve widespread acceptance of the registrant designation by consumers, employers, peers, other human service professionals, legislators, and the general public in order to promote and assure high quality practices and services. |
