
The Mike Rubin Scholarship

Michael (Mike) Allen Rubin (October 20, 1949 - April 8, 1997) was a Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment Association (VEWAA) appointed Commissioner with CCWAVES. In addition to his participation in VEWAA, he was a leader in the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP, formerly NARPPS), and he was known throughout the state of California for his tireless efforts to promote the profession of vocational evaluation. He was also a trusted friend and colleague to many of those who knew him personally. |

The Mike Rubin Scholarship was created to remember Mike for his contributions
to the profession and the work of the Commission. The scholarship supports
an eligible student or practitioner in his/her pursuit of the Certified
Vocational Evaluation Specialist (CVE) designation. Special consideration
will be given to those scholarship applicants who are specializing in
the private for-profit sector. This scholarship provides for payment of
all application, processing and examination fees associated with this
certification. Initial funding for this scholarship was provided with
a generous donation by his family. Applicants for the Mike Rubin Scholarship should forward a letter of intent, outlining how they satisfy requirements for this scholarship along with completed CVE application and fees. If selected, fees will be refunded to the recipient by CCWAVES. Interest should be directed to the CCWAVES national office at 1835 Rohlwing Road, Suite E, Rolling Meadows IL 60008.
