Deborah K. Nolte (April 12, 1955 - January 18, 2001) was a devoted vocational evaluation practitioner, educator, leader and friend. She assumed a number of leadership roles during her tenure with the Commission including Secretary, Vice-Chair, Chair, Task Force Chair and countless committee appointments. Deborah began her term as a Comissioner in 1993, filling the role of CCWAVES Commissioner Dick Omang. She continued an appointment as Commissioner in 1997, filling the role of CCWAVES Commissioner Michael A. Rubin.
The Deborah K. Nolte Certification Renewal Scholarship was created to remember Deborah for her contributions
to the profession and the work of the Commission. The scholarship provides payment of the full Certification Renewal Fee for a practicing Certified Vocational Evaluation Specialist (CVE) who is applying for CVE renewal. Criteria for selection include (a) membership in professional organizations, (b) office(s) held in professional organizations and (c) tenure of service to professional organizations. The individual must be personally responsible for his/her own renewal fees.
Applicants must apply at the time of CVE renewal with a one-page letter indicating how he or she meets the criteria stated above. A resume must be included with the letter of application. Letters of application and resumes should be sent to CCWAVES at 1835 Rohlwing Road, Suite E, Rolling Meadows IL 60008. Selection for the Deborah K. Nolte Certification Renewal Scholarship will occur during February of the year following receipt of the application.
